The British Rail Class 08 was a diesel-electric shunting locomotive designed
for general shunting purposes. Built from 1953 onwards, they were based
on an original design from LMS and were one of British Rail's most numerous
class with a total of 996 built for use in the UK. Originally powered
by an English Electric 6KP 350hp engine, they steadily increased in power
to around 600hp in the 60's and had a maximum speed of 15mph. No build log this time, just a bunch of photos from various stages of the build |
